Had a Yoga class yesterday early morning. love Sunday mornings...peaceful and quiet ...roads are also less busy. woke up early especially for Yoga.....but feel good after the class. Went to Scotts Coffee Bean for a nice breakfast and also to do my chinese homework....like times like this when you have some personal time.
The breakfast set looked great and tasted quite alright too...very hearty.
all was peaceful until some American tourist/businessman came in and started chatting on his mobile with that nasal american twang. he talked really really for a long time....i wonder...sunday morning ...got so much business to talk?!! anyway he went on for like an hour.....whole cafe was filled with his voice.
u wont see this happening in europe or japan.
read Sunday Times at the cafe. read about this DJ who is coming back to airwaves. 3-4 years back, i read about her getting married.....it was such a romantic thing...her creative field husband proposed to her with diamond ring at HK's Victoria Peak...night time and winter i think....so nice lah....just like TVB drama!! i like Victoria Peak with the lights and scenery....
now she already has a 3 yr old daughter.....and guess what, she named her Victoria!! becuz of that proposal day....awwwwwww......

Going on Holiday
After 1 week odd in Japan, Hokkaido...my holiday is over and now back and settled down in office again. Boy! was i glad that this holiday came at the right time.
At first i was dreading preparing for the holiday, my fc gat and my work...its was just all coming at the same time. nearly went crazy and had sleepless nights. most worrying was my work...the day i left office...my boss also scolded me for some stuff and that made it worst! and from there i rushed to my fc gat to see jc........i was late and had to leave early so i can make it to airport on time. in the taxi all the way from JI, i had to rush put on the arabian accessories and make up.
i normally get very involve in the gat and he usually visits once a year......but this time i couldnt chat longer with my overseas friends or even have time to take a pic or small chat with jc...
Jc was quite excited about the place...something i guess he hasnt seen......kept taking pictures with his own camera. he even declined the chair prepared for him, sat on the floor and took out his shoes like the rest of us. and he tried all the arabian food and esp like the sweet milky cinnemon drinks...2 big glasses! (no wonder he cant loose weight easily...ha!)
one daring gal came in a sexy belly dancer costume.....good figure too.
my friend later told me that when somebody asked "where am i"....some others mentioned ''not here yet''.....jc gave out a surprised look. keke...ok ...oh well.....i will just take it as something happy!...haha.....dream dream......whatever...
rushed home, bathe, throw a few things in the luggage...but i still had a heavy heart from my bad day in office....felt like gonna cry in the taxi on way to airport! luckily my parents managed to talk some sense into me and explained that working life is like that. on leave means on leave, there is nothing much boss or colleagues can do. just have to go for the holiday. when i am back, situation will be better, prob tdy is just not good timing. sometimes really appreciate the advise from older folks. i guess they are truly more experienced in life.
the flight on ANA was alright. i think their service improved quite a bit. last time i sat ANA, the crew spoke practically no english or very poor eng. air hostess all quite old also. but now different, eng more widely spoken, crew is young and pretty and entertainment system quite good. food also more standard. the last time was one cold crossiant for snack and some frozen looking sauages/pancakes for breakfast. now no more....er...still got that packaged crossiant..hahah but breakfast was much nicer. rice and some fish. spore style. didnt get to see captain though...wonder if it was a Kimura looking captain a la ''Good Luck" ...haha!
Landed in Narita and the queue at customs was crazy! so long and so slow. nothing changed...still the slow clearance. but maybe cant blame them cuz heard a lot of pple try to over stay in japan, work there and earn japanese yen. so they have to be more careful. saw Santata and his band at customs too! i spotted him immediately. my dad didnt believe me...ask how can he be so young? but i was sure. anyway he is not old lah...and very fair. dad went to ask one of the musicians...and they said yah..its santana...woo...not bad, get to see at least one star in japan.
tour guide was good, lead us well to the right places for the transfer to Haneda (domestic) airport which is about 1 hour from narita....and then 1hr 20mins flight to chitose in Hokkaido. slept like a pig while on the bus to haneda. tired and couldnt sleep on plane. watcthed this corny movie "failure to launch" ......cant believe hollywood makes this type of film nowdays. its watchable but u know the standard dropped like mad when got fake animals like dolphines playing with the lead just to make it funny.
the ANA plane to chitose was even bigger than the plane from spore to tokyo! that shows the power of the local market. it was 2 levels and maybe like triple the capacity.
landed in Hokkaido! after about 10 hours of travelling!.....felt a bit like a zoombie on the first day. but guide knew this and arranged nothing on the first day, just for us to rest and relax.
Luckily we got a traditional japanese room that night (half of the group got western style rooms). FIRST TIME i felt the experince of sleeping in traditional japanese room. the room is a very standard format and design. Tatami is of course made of some kind of straw and its very beneficial to health. Over the process of your sleep at night, the straw mat and pillow will actually draw the humidity from our bodies (about i cup). There is a nice tea set on the table too and also some japanese confectionery. inside the sliding cupboards are 2 sets of Yukata for hot spring and a coatee.
there is a footwear area after the door and then after that area, the room is raised slightly higher. toilet and room is also separated by sliding door. very cute lah the whole concept and very proper.
toilet wise, its super small but their bath tub is very deep. some hotels have the bidet....which is automated water to wash your butt. you can chose front or back wash....warm seat, music while you do business, deoriser, pressure of water and temperature of water. some more expensive models, you have automated toilet seats and cover and heated seats so the aircon dun freeze yr butt. .......haha....very hygenic lah...but waste a lot of water and electricity. but i guess Japan is an advance and clean nation so there. one step above the rest.
Hokkaido is truly a wonderful place, its bascially an argriculture part of Japan but it has its own character. Way up north, Hokkaido is near Harbin and Russia....., the climate is always cool or very cold, but never hot and humid. My dad said the place reminds him a bit of Sweden. Hokkaido is also a rather European influenced place with some old colonial buildings....and european culture.....more later
